Development Update

Soaring and COVID–2019

The world is going through unprecedented times and most of the world is in lock down mode. #stayathome #flattenthecurve

This obviously affects our hobby as well. Almost all aviation is on hold in Europe with a notable exception being cargo and military flights. My Club FCC Berlin has ceased all activities until further notice although we’re still preparing for the German qualification competition we’re scheduled to hold this summer. Crossing fingers that it won’t get cancelled. 🤞

Just a month ago I was planning to work full-time on Aufwind and get it to a shippable first version by the end of March. I am not sure if this plan makes sense anymore given that nobody is flying and there is little use for the Aufwind app currently. Are you able to fly in this situation privately or in your club? I’d love to hear how you’re holding up in the current situation.

Also, huge thanks so far for testing Aufwind and reporting bugs and giving me feedback. I am uploading a new version of Aufwind Beta to Apple Test Flight as I am writing this email. It should be available in TestFlight in the next 24 hours. Below is a summary of the changes it contains.

Give it a whirl and please send me feedback on what you like and don’t like and what else you’d like to see in Aufwind.

I’d also appreciate if you take a minute to tell your aviator friends about Aufwind. I’d be happy to add them as beta testers as well.

And most importantly, take care of yourselves and stay healthy!

Best,

Engin.
